A high carat gold 17th Century Renaissance ring with a table-cut rock crystal in a high square setting with black enamel on the sides in the setting and with a flower on the shanks.
This type of ring was fashionable in the 17th century during the decades 1575-1625.
Although gold rings with diamonds and enamel occur throughout Europe, this type specifically seems to only occur in the Netherlands. Amsterdam is the probably place of manufacture.
The backside of the ring contains an enamel 'IHS' monogram
