Victorian Dutch Navette Ring, Lab Ruby, Rosecut Diamond Halo, 14K Gold

Gone = gone price€1.100,00

A lab-grown ruby sits at the centre of this navette ring, surrounded by a full halo of rosecut diamonds set close and even in 14K gold. The ruby is a vivid, saturated red. The rosecut diamonds around it are hand faceted, each one catching light softly rather than sharply. The navette form runs along the finger, pointed at both ends, giving the ring a long, composed silhouette.

The stone is laboratory grown, which in this context is historically significant rather than a compromise: synthetic rubies were a product of late 19th century French chemistry, and their use in Dutch jewellery of this period places the ring precisely in time.
