Victorian 1860's Dutch Fringe Pendant Brooch

Created in the 1880s, this Dutch pendant brooch is built around that idea of permanence. The composition is structured and balanced, with a central gold frame holding a small arrangement of natural pearls as its quiet focal point.

The ivy leaves define the piece. Finely worked and subtly varied in tone, they anchor the design and introduce texture against the polished gold. Ivy, by nature, binds and endures — a symbolism that carries through the entire composition.

Rows of seed pearls along the sides add softness without overwhelming the structure. Below, articulated gold tassels bring movement, each ending in a small bead with a larger central drop that gives the piece presence when worn.

The reverse reveals its dual function, with a brooch fitting integrated into the back. The mechanism remains intact and fully functional.
